Orcas Island 2010
Ten days spent in island time—even if it was a “workcation,” it was one of the best weeks of our year.

Here are a couple bonus videos—A Night at the Opera and a Day at the Races:
Lastly, here’s a video we created under the Belle Creative umbrella for the festival:
After flying up, we left Elliot with Mimi and Pop as we ferried to Orcas a weekend early for the Doe Bay Music festival—imagine summer camp and a rock festival smooshed together. We bunked in a cabin with good friends and enjoyed the resort while listening to bands. When we were swimming in the cove, we were listening to bands, when we were grilling hamburgers, we were listening to bands, when we were talking on our cabin patio as the sun set over the San Juans, we were listening to bands, as we roasted marshmallows around the campfire, we were listening to bands. And, when we weren’t listening to bands, we were talking with the musicians about music. All in such a serene setting.
And this was just the beginning!
That weekend was followed by a whole week at The Eagle’s Nest house overlooking Orcas Island’s North Beach. The house is stocked with games and books and movies, but we spent most of our time outside—swimming, playing, running, biking, pogo-sticking, crab-racing, kite-flying, deck-sitting, al-fresca-reading, airplane watching, etc, etc.
